Windows 7 Readiness Solutions
EAC Network Solutions are preparing many customers to migrate to Windows 7, including the actual migration in some cases. The main elements of a Windows 7 readiness project are these:
Microsoft Key Management Server – The KMS server is required to automatically register and activate copies of Windows 7 machines on the network.
Windows Deployment Server – WDS is used to deploy a Windows 7 image to multiple hardware models across the network.
Application Deployment (EAC recommends Microsoft AppV) – Centralised management of applications across the network.
Windows 7 ready Group Policies – preparation of group policies to secure your Windows 7 workstations.
A Windows 7 standard image – preparation of a standard Windows 7 base image, which contains any client software that is not planned to be deployed via either group policies, or some other application deployment solution.
